Potentially positive news on funding, though experience shows Grahamstown Residents’ Association will need to monitor and hold to account.

Other parts of this report quite bizarre, that anyone could think Fairview Spring has sufficient capacity to make much difference to our overall water supply situation.

Finally, to note, the dam levels quoted are the ones provided by @grahamstown residents’ association on 25th June. We were given expert advice that the levels indicated 143 days supply. But, water cannot be transferred to high-lying areas. This means some dam water needs to be ‘ring-fenced’ for high-lying areas only. This means, water sharing and planned outages would have to commence well before 143 days. Makana are saying (if no substantial rain) before the end of September.

If this occurs we will all experience ongoing water interruptions until there is heavy rain.
